100 Black Lives

November 8, 2017

100 Black Lives is a paper and thread installation that invites viewer interaction and empathy by using commonalities we all share to identify victims of police violence. The piece pushes back against media desensitization: each victim is a real person with real families who now have to live without them. They are not just a hashtag.

This piece has been exhibited in the Design Office Uncommissioned Show (8.2016), The Johnson & Wales University Alumni Show (1.2017-5.2017), and the AIGA RI SeeUS Exhibition (4.2017).
